About Mariner

Financial expertise and operational insight, in the same engagement

Kevin Lacey founded Mariner Consulting Group to close the gap between accounting, inventory, and business performance. As a CPA and MBA with more than two decades of experience, he brings a rare combination to inventory-based businesses: the ability to design a system that operations will actually use, and the accounting discipline to make sure it ties out to the financials.

Mariner specializes in small and mid-sized businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets but have no business buying an enterprise ERP. That means SOS Inventory and Order Time implementations, QuickBooks Online integration, and the bookkeeping, payroll platform, and advisory work that keeps the data reliable after go-live.

Kevin is a contributing author to The Woodard Report, where he writes on technology, AI, operational strategy, and the future of advisory services.

Workflow before software

We document how your business actually runs before touching a configuration screen. The system bends to the operation, not the other way around.

Accounting is not an afterthought

A CPA designs the account mapping, so inventory value, COGS, and adjustments reconcile from day one instead of at year end.

Straight answers

If a cheaper platform fits better, or if the real problem is process rather than software, that is what you'll hear.

One consultant, start to finish

No handoff from the person who scoped the project to a junior implementer you've never met.
